UK Bullion is a company that sells precious metal products online. I was asked to design a new website for them, keeping the same functionality and style of logo, but at the same time making it look fresh and new. Because the website had to have a secure look, I designed it in a clean and simple way. To give it a little bit of depth, the slideshow is presented on a shelf-looking background, that divides the website into two parts. For the logo redesign, I slightly changed the colours to seem more vivid, weight of the font and spacing between words.

Creative factory (www.kreatywnafabryka.com) is a design studio based in Lesser Poland. I was asked to design a funky looking character who would enrich their current website. Professor Pixelowicz is a funny character who is looking after pixels and constantly checking their quality in the Creative Factory. Vector illustrations were prepared in Illustrator.

PayDay is a quick loan service in UEA. What the customer wanted was to “Build image based on trust where payday loans are not perceived as ‘loan sharking’ but convenient hassle-free way of getting money until next salary”. To achieve this, I’ve decided to create an animated cartoon, with a character on a camel who is a lender. This way website doesn’t look too serious, and looks more approachable. I was responsible for creating brand identity for this project, as well as responsive web design, that will work great on different screen resolutions.

“The Magical world of Mr Caterpillar and Friends” is an on going project of childrens’ illustrated book. At the moment I finished illustration for the first poem. Book is sheduled to appear in book shopps around September 2013.

Enta was this years platinum sponsor of PCR awards 2012. Because of that, I was asked to design double spread advert with Good luck message. I went through a few adverts from a few years back to know what to avoid, and which elements not to use. I thought the best way to do something creative that haven’t been printed before was to connect it somehow with Enta. I wasn’t too difficult, taking into consideration, that company itself has a strong Chinese tradition. I decided to go for a Chinese looking theme, with a message written with Chinese characters, with translation in English underneath it. Designing it took me quite a while, but I believe effect was worth it

One of the interactive campaigns I was involved in was to create a promotional campaign for Valentine’s Day. While designing it, I had to find a way to avoid a corporate style as well as coming across too feminem as the target audience was mainly male. There were many attractive prizes prepared for the Spread The Love winners, so I thought of giving it a magic and surreal look.

I managed to achieve this by using… a prince frog:) It’s not too serious, but also not too tacky at the same time. Frog was sitting in a grass with a crown on his head, waiting for the magical kiss that would turn him into a prince. This very romantic concept managed to avoid obvious colour schemes (reds and pinks) but still preserved a dreamy and passionate feel for Valentine’s Day.

Arctic launched advert in Custom PC during December 2011 promoting their media player. My design brief was to add gaming look to their product, that would encourage potential magazine readers to buy their products. I used purple as my main colour and played a bit with reflections and lights. Rather than using long product description I used only a few icons representing main Media Player functionalities.

One of the most exciting projects in my portfolio – Face the Boss. Its a web service for creatives that are looking for a job, and want to present their portfolios ans show reels to their future employers.

Firstly I designed their logo, and once their picked colors and logo design they preferred we moved to next step. Requested web design was supposed to look professional but had to have something different than competitors. As most of job looking services have very basic design, it was quite a nice task to design something standard breaking.

As some of my previous projects were involved in character design, this time as well I was requested to design a character for this page. As there s gonna be some serious people out there, character had to give a unprofessional look to the page. That’s how I came with the idea of having a little cheeky boss.

Later on I was also involved in Facebook fan page design, business cards design and iPhone App design, which was quite new experience for me.

Madcatz wanted to advertise some of their products in MCV Magazine during December. Because its a Christmas season, I had to implement some holiday theme into it. I was trying to avoid obvious colour scheme, and decided to not use any reds in advert. As their products were gaming related, I used only a couple of vectors in green, that filled background but still were a bit settled. To give it this winter touch, I brushed bits of snow on all corners and a bit on sides. This advert was running in MCV Magazine during December, and in web banner version for all month on their website.

This print advert was running in MCV magtazine during December 2011. I used snow flakes from Fractals logo to enrich background a bit. While designing this advert I wanted to present Fractals products in the most interesting and eye catching way (even though, I have to admit, products them selves are not too exciting).

This project was a bit of a pain. I was asked for a help with designing a website for this B&B. While designing this website and logo, I was trying to give it personal touch, make it looking welcoming and warm. I created a stamp looking logo, that is related to name of a place. Also, I edited provided picture quite heavily, to make it looking sunny and welcoming. Unfortunately, site went live in its previous, very limited form. It seems like I took a bit too modern approach.

Here is some of my personal illustration work. Some of those illustrations were used on websites or were printed on t-shirts.

Animation part was created in Adobe Flash, but all elements were pre designed in Adobe Illustrator. I started my work on it from developing a character and his car, as the main concept was to show a journey. As I adore my convertible, he couldn’t really drive a boring hatchback So we have this fella in his hot red car. He is a bit sad, annoyed and probably bored, up until time when he sees the “land of opportunity”.. that’s the point when the story gets better. He meets all of those people, and visits many places, that at the end gives him idea for his business.

Ogle Ogle Do – a company from Birmingham asked to design their leaflets. As a name can suggest they wanted to base their brand identity to look as much as possible as Google. Because they already have a website, I though my task will be easy – quick leaflet to repeat their branding elements, positioned in a nice way. As I quickly learned- there is nothing simple with design. especially if you are a creative person.

First cardinal mistake I made from the very beginning with this project was being too creative (apparently You can be too creative sometimes). As I new their branding is very fresh and they are still no convince what they wanna show to customers, I though I will give them some of my ideas, presented in nice way to inspire them. That’s one think about me designing – I always get into trouble being too creative.

Experienced designer would just do a simple leaflet, not to fancy, probably would never put it in portfolio, as a nasty project, but customer would be happy. I can’t really do it – I believe that as a designer, professional, I am hired because of my abilities, and because people believe in my skills. My projects should be eye catching and bring them more customers.

And that how from a simple leaflet design I made my own personal goal to make a world better place, and people more happy thanks to my one leaflet. Unfortunately reality is sometimes a bit harsher than i image. I was trying to convince this customer to my designs for about 2 months. After that time I was too tired to explain that people wont buy tacky “buy us – we make you more money” ideas. Luckily, I managed to convince them to some of my ideas, and some of them staid – like from image or unusual folding of a leaflet (front page was smaller than other so show a bit of inside).

As I was not happy with end project, I wont publish it here, but instead I’m putting original version of a leaflet.

I designed a range of banners and print adverts for Panasonic. First adverts related to color printers had a splash of paint going across printers and page. This advert was printed in Enta’s source magazine and in PCR Magazine.

Later on I was working on some email adverts for them, and because their printers were Mono I decided to put on them two pandas, that would make advert more interesting. The comment I got was: “it looks good but pandas are a bit sad” and if there is anything I can do about it… our head designer said to not be bothered, that’s the way pandas are. True. But because of my sense of humor decided to take a bit of control over my work… I send to them a little joke – pandas with a massive, unnatural smile, highly photoshoped. Looking a bilt like a cat from Alice in Wonderland. How surprised I was when they treated it seriously and send a reply that its brilliant…. :O And that how all my work on big smiles started 

Somehow this little joke started a full machine of new ideas, for different animals with big smiles. Personally I still this that original, non-smiley version of advert was more natural, and somehow looked better. But well.. this one is definitely… funnier 

Branded Bull is new open restaurant based on Broad Street in Birmingham. It was styled to look like an traditional american steakhouse. Owner didn’t have the main idea how he wants its corporate image to look like, so while providing different designs his mind was changing. I started with designing bright colour website, with elements of flash animation, and many photo-montages on sides. The idea of a website and colors used was changing with time, and the end result turned out to be clean, simple, almost minimalistic.

Presented menu design have wood elements that are adding elegance and emphasizing unique atmosphere in the restaurant. Menus are designed to follow website’s look. The idea was to put ingredients around all pages, that will help menu look more “tasty”.

Illustration created for consumer campaign to save water for Polish Humanitarian Aid

Add for Gainward, to appear in July’s Custom PC Magazine. Took me about 8 hours to create a background. All buildings are free stock images photoshoped a lot to create this unique destructive look. I managed to achieve this effect of destruction presented on advert by using many pictures of damaged buildings combined together with normal buildings, as well as some shading, color effects and grungy brushes and textures.

This advert was inspired by Gainwards cards image on Golden Series.

Edii is a new EntaTech charater that will be supporting their brand from now on! I designed Edii around April, and ever since then was improving his shape and drawing him in different circumstances. On June 2011 Edii appeared on PCR’s cover, as an official introduction of a new character.

Whats funny about this project is, that Edii was originally designed as a design joke (on 1st of April) that I’ve send to marketing, when they requested some graphics for their exhibition. Somehow, it turned out to be a great marketing idea, that will help to bring more customer friendly image of a company. To be honest – I didn’t believe they serious (it was 1st of April after all). But when next day i head that the idea is spreading – I knew they serious 

At the moment Edii is supporting all brand identity of EntaTech, he appears on all adverts – web and print.

One of my favorite printed adverts. It appeared on April’s PCR. It was styled in a rain forest environment. The range that Gigabite wanted to promote was called sniper. My first suggestion was a movie – Apocalypse now, and I decided to base my design on it.

Photomanipulation took me a few hours, but the printed result was very appealing. As a girl, I started first design wih a few butterflies in the background, but lated on they were replaced by orner and some exotic bugs – that were fitting range better.

This add was in April’s PCR magazine and it was created for Gigabite

I recently designed the layout of Iiyama vendor shop for enatonline.com. It was one of the new companies that entered their system, with not many nice graphics that were supplied to me. That gave me loads of opportunities to get creative and do something completely new and fresh for them. I spend some time, worked on details and a nice photomaoniluation in a header, that illustrated all page better.

I got very positive feedback, which I really appreciate

One of animation projects I was directly involved in. It was created to support marketing campaign for VOiP phones users. The main goal was to create a funny animation which shows importance of updating users location in internet system. I was involved in storyboarding, and was responsible for all animation work, sound effects and drawings. Straight after launching it we got very possitive feedback.

My designing for Freecom was mostly about web adverts and banners, but also some email campaigns and pdf data sheet for a few products. At the beginning I was mostly involved in web banners – one of them was presenting an elephant standing on their Toughest Drive, the other one was related to Michael Angelo Painting.

When I was designing their email advert for sport drive, I wanted to give it this extreme look, that could be related to extreme sports. I’ve picked climbing as my main inspiration and places all products on rocks and scarps. A little green lizard gave a bit of color to advert and broke boring background. Later on graphics created for this advert were re-used for online banners and adverts.

Recently I was involved with designing a data sheet for their printing service available on all products. Because I wanted this data sheet to look different the regular Freecom vendor shop or banner, I used pink as a main color, that gave it this funky look.

I was designing 4 page pull out advert for the February 2011 edition of PCR magazine. Because it was a gaming special, all adverts were expected to have dark, gaming looking colour skim. My task was to design an add that will be able to stand out from it. After doing a couple different mock-ups, I decided to go for white cyborg woman.

Designing this website was a great fun. Harpour shopping centre is located in a castle, so that that quickly dictated my main theme. I spend quite a bit of time designing their castle on a floating island full of shopping related bits, that was later used in a header of a website. I tried to use as many old/medieval elements as possible, but trying, at the same time, to combine it with modern looking shopping center.

I was asked by Medialogix, limited company from Birmingham (UK) that sells software, to refresh their brand identity. As company started to grow, and spread abroad, they couldn’t continue with their old branding. The problem was, that many existing customers were already recognizing their brand, so they didn’t want to move changes too far. I managed to convince them to change colors on logo to give them move vivid and fresh look, and add a few faded elements.

The result turned out to be a great idea, so we continued faded squares on their brochures (designed for Canadian and Australian branch as well). The end result had faded squares that were creating UK shape for British branch, Australia for Australian and Canada for Canadian.

Same pattern was reflected on business cards and promotional materials such as flyers.

Also website that was based on user friendly CMS system was reflecting faded square pattern. I gave it fresh, corporate looking touch, as I believe keeping things simple is always working as an advantage for a web.

The last task of a project was to design exhibition panels. As they were not sure of a content, and if they wouldn’t like to change it in future, they suggested to design panels in a way that its easy to replace one part. I decided to divide all artwork to 10 pieces of separate panels – all together they were margin to create one big panel, but if they need to replace one piece they can print only one small panel, with no need to spend a lot of money for brand new panels.

I was working as an in-house designer for Scout for a year. Scout is a eCard web service, which allows its user to upload and send eCards via their system. They also have their own base of static and animated eCards.

I think I can easily say that Scout was my own child, as from the very beginning and sketches to the very end it was all my own creation. The biggest challenge was obviously the logo. As the service is aiming for many segments of users, it was not an easy task. “Make it looking friendly and related to eCards” that’s what i was told. After a few weeks of tweaking and changing bits, I came out with current logo and a mascot of a service – an ostrich wearing postman clothes.

I left company a few years ago, but it seems like ostrich stayed, well, not only stayed, but is also used by new designers as a reference for their designs and animations!
